How can a man know the deep things of God?
To answer this question, we must first have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Not a mere understanding of Him, but one that is personal or intimate, whereby, he is the first person we thing about, seek, and advance our relationship. Why is this so important? Because it is only through our personal relationship with Christ Jesus that we receive the Spirit of God; the Holy Spirit. Our promised "Comforter" (John 15:26).
John 14:26 KJV says, "The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
Without the Holy Spirit we cannot know the deep things of God, which the Spirit of God shall teach and bring to remembrance, as Scripture (Jesus) has spoken.
I Corinthians 2:10-11 KJV confirms this, saying, "10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Only the Spirit of God reveals the deep things of God, and only a believer can receive the Holy Spirit when he accepts Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit/ Spirit of truth takes up residence in that new found believer's heart.
Now, some believe a person can know the Holy Spirit without Christ to which Scripture says in John 14:17 KJV "Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." And Romans 8:1 KJV "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, (After having accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior) who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Men must not make the mistake of following after the traditions of men/flesh rather follow after the things of God. Romans 8:5-6 KJV "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."
Are you spiritually minded, following after life and peace? I pray you are, but if not perhaps today is the day of salvation for you. Accept Jesus Christ and let today become your day of salvation and a new beginning, so that the Spirit of God can begin to show you the deep things of God.
One such woman, experienced the deep things of God the day she witnessed to a young man. In the past, she never believed she could effectively shared the love of God until she began witnessing to an unbeliever, sharing the deep things of God. In the end, she admitted, she was surprised by her ability to recall portions of Scripture and show this young man what Jesus had taught her. And while he did not accept Jesus Christ into his heart that day, she was encouraged by the Holy Spirit's willingness to use her. Perhaps you are struggling with the idea of sharing the gospel and/or witnessing to an unbeliever. Will you submit to the Holy Spirit and allow him to speak through you? Matthew 10:20 KJV says, "For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
Trust Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you, revealing the deep things of God to both you and an unbelieving world. Jesus is waiting.
Revelation 3:20 KJV "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
John 14:6 KJV "Jesus saith unto Thomas, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only source of life. He is not a way, or a truth, or a life as some would have people believe. Will you trust Jesus today? Let me know, I would love to hear how Jesus came into your life.
